We are delighted to welcome you back to view THE Curiosity Collection Part Two

The Curiosity Collection Part Two and the Kent Association for the Blind Gravesend Art Group Autumn Exhibition is the creative response to an object handling session at The Blake Gallery, getting up close to The Gravesham Collection of social history objects, memorabilia and souvenirs from years gone by.

Thanks to funding support from National Highways, The Blake Gallery have been carrying out a detailed review of the The Gravesham Collection which has helped them to understand the significance of the collection and identify new ways in which to use and display it.

The Gravesend Kent Association for the Blind Art Group group created tactile artworks; plaques, spoons, bowls inspired by the collection. Working with air drying clay for the plaques, bowls, pipes and textures, and polymer clay to create a colourful collection of spoons, these spoons are displayed next to the original artefacts. Members of the Bromley and Canterbury KAB art groups also contributed to the spoon collection.

In true curiosity cabinet style, the items on display are not themed or in any particular order.
